Day 2 - We Sail!

As we leave the Ferry Terminal in Bellingham we were treated to a beautiful rainbow.

Overall the trip was smooth with a little rain. The only rough area was through the Queen Charlotte Straits.

There were very few passengers on the ferry. It can carry 900+ passengers. This trip had about 250. As we left those who did not purchase cabins were setting up tents in specified areas on the decks or making a deck chair comfortable with sleeping bags, air mattress etc. One family we met were taking the ferry all the way to Skagway and returning to Bellingham with no stop-overs. Others were planning to stop for several days at various ports - using the ferry as transportation between ports.
