Ferry arrived promptly at 7 AM and the crew wanted us off as soon as possible. The rain was pouring down and the wind was blowing. Once we found the location of the Catita’s berth, we took off in a cab. Cab took us to the top of the ramp 2. We took the luggage the rest of the way via a Safeway cart and a wheel barrow. Marie and Chris, the new owner, were there to greet us. Camp was set up in two “cozy” cabins. One was used for belongings and the other for sleeping. One Cruise ship was in the harbor so stores were open. Mid afternoon the ship’s horn blew; people quickly vacated the town and headed to the ship. Shortly there after 90% or more of the stores closed and Ketchikan turned into a ghost town.
